About Team Rynkeby School Run
How the fundraising works
Before the event, students can find sponsors among family, friends, neighbours, or local businesses. Sponsors can choose to donate a small amount per lap or kilometre that the student completes, or they can agree on a fixed sum.
Students record their sponsorships on the sponsorship form provided by their teacher. Once the event is completed, they tally up their laps or kilometres and calculate how much each sponsor should contribute.
Afterward, students inform their sponsors of the amount they need to pay. The money is transferred via the school's MobilePay number, which is clearly stated on the sponsorship form the student has received.
After the event, all students receive a certificate in appreciation of their efforts.
What do the funds go towards?
The funds raised by Team Rynkeby School Run contribute to supporting research into critical illnesses in children and young people. There is still a need for more knowledge on how childhood diseases can be prevented, detected, and treated, so that more children can receive the help they need.
When a child lives with a serious illness, it impacts their daily life, energy, play, and opportunities to engage like other children.
In each country, the collection goes to the organisation that Team Rynkeby partners with locally. What unites all countries is that the children run to help other children and to be part of a worthy cause that extends beyond the race day itself.
The Journey to the School Race
When you sign up for the Team Rynkeby School Run, please specify as accurately as possible how many children will be taking part. This number will be used to calculate how many materials will be delivered for the race day.
You can change the number of participants up until the registration deadline. You can do this via the link in the confirmation email received by the contact person once the institution is registered.
After the registration deadline, it will no longer be possible to change the number. Therefore, you will receive materials for the number of children registered by the deadline.
Shortly after registration, the institution will be contacted by a participant from the Team Rynkeby team closest to you.
The local team will assist you as much as possible with information, advice and practical support leading up to the race day, ensuring you are well prepared for the Team Rynkeby School Run.
Before the event, you will receive the materials you need to carry out the Team Rynkeby School Run.
You will receive, among other things:
Posters to help promote the event
Printed parent letters, if you have requested them
Sponsor forms for the children
Certificates for the children
A symbolic cheque to present to the local Team Rynkeby team
There is no need for you to print the materials yourself. You will also receive a unique MobilePay number, provided by the Team Rynkeby Foundation. This number will be printed on the relevant materials to make the donation process as simple as possible.
If you do not receive the materials before the event, please contact your liaison at the local Team Rynkeby team as soon as possible.
In the weeks leading up to the event, it can be a good idea to gather the children for a kickoff. Here, you can explain what will happen on the race day, how the fundraising works, and why the children are running for a great cause.
A kickoff gives the children a better understanding that the event is about more than just exercise. It's about making a difference for other children through community, movement, and small efforts that can come together to create something significant.
You can use the kickoff to talk to the children about the organisation that Team Rynkeby School Run supports in your country, and how the funds raised help children and families in need of support. Some schools and institutions also choose to invite a local representative, a family, or others with personal experience to share why this support matters.
The local Team Rynkeby team is happy to provide inspiration and guidance, ensuring you create a successful kickoff that suits your children, environment, and race day.
After the kickoff, the children can be given the materials they will need leading up to the event. This may include a letter for parents and a sponsorship form, which the children can use to find micro-sponsors among family, friends, neighbours, or local businesses.
After the kickoff, children can find micro-sponsors among family, friends, neighbours, or local businesses. A micro-sponsor can choose to support with a small amount per lap or kilometre that the child completes on the race day.
It is also possible to support with a fixed amount, regardless of how far the child runs. This way, everyone can join in and support the event in the way that suits them best.
All sponsors will be recorded on the sponsorship sheet provided to the child. Here, the child can keep track of who has chosen to support them and how the sponsorship has been agreed upon.
It is important to convey to the children that the race is not about who raises the most money. Every contribution counts, and the most important thing is that the children experience being part of making a difference together.
Children and sponsors should not write the amount on the sponsor label. It is used to show that the child is participating in the race and is supporting a good cause.
Here you can see how much each school raised in 2026.
If you would like to make the Team Rynkeby School Run more visible in your local area, you can invite the local press to cover the event.
Team Rynkeby has prepared press materials that can be customised for your school or institution.
Some schools and institutions also choose to invite local sports figures, celebrities or other prominent individuals from the area to participate on the day. This can help to generate extra attention and make the run an even greater experience for the children.
We recommend that you allocate a maximum of one hour for the race itself. Warm-up, changing, and other practical activities can be done separately.
The route should be a circular course of 500 to 1,000 metres, making it easy to keep track of the children's laps throughout.
At the finish line, you can set up registration points where parents, teachers, or caregivers record each child every time they pass by. This could be done, for example, by marking the child's arm with a pen for each lap.
Once the race is over, the number of laps or kilometres is noted on the child's sponsorship form. Following this, the amount each sponsor should contribute to the fundraising can be calculated.
After the event, sponsorship contributions must be paid electronically. This can be done via the school's unique MobilePay number or by card payment.
You can keep track of how much has been raised at your school or institution by logging in to the Team Rynkeby website using the unique link you received upon registration.
All contributions must be made electronically. The MobilePay number can be found in the materials provided to you, and it is also possible to make a contribution via the Team Rynkeby website.
When sponsors pay through the website, they can receive tax deductions if they provide their CPR number or CVR number at the time of payment.
It is not possible to issue invoices or accept cash sponsorships. An electronic payment will generate a receipt via email, which can be used as an attachment for your accounts.
Once the sponsorship contributions are registered with Team Rynkeby Fonden, the school’s or institution’s fundraising will be concluded.
After this, the contact person will automatically receive a confirmation via email. This will detail the total amount raised by the school or institution through the Team Rynkeby School Run.
This amount can be used to inform children, parents, and staff about the impact of your collective efforts.
